I’m starting a project culminating in a book, the project is titled Urban Pursuits, as it’s about people in the urban environment pursuing things for themselves, from friends to solitude and many subjects inbetween.
I went for a walk round Soho yesterday, just with my Canon 5D MkIII and 35mm 1.4 shooting predominantly from the hip except for a couple of shots namely the man in the blue suit, other wise all from the hip.
Went to photograph Healthy Junkies upon request from Nina, well it was crazy, I had to stay to the side of the stage especially during Towers of London’s set, it was pure mayhem as the photos show. great fun though.
Towers Of London are a band that wear their influences of their hearts. 2019 sees them bending rock, alternative and indie into a melting pot, emerging with a brand new sound that defines them as a band that are inclusive to all kinds of music and exclusive of none. Their hedonistic reputation precedes them but they've grown into something more. The bands new dawn sees them here seeking to make a difference with the music they make. Rock and Roll, Spirit and Soul.
Punk Rock / Grunge / Psychedelic phenomenon Healthy Junkies continue on their quest to stimulate and celebrate the great rock'n'roll lifestyle. Promoting their 4th studio album out now on Cargo Records, they will be performing new songs off the album along with old faves in their own unique way. Expect melodic chaos and theatrical mayhem...

The winning song was chosen from 500+ entries by a panel of high profile music industry judges:- Joss Stone, Mike Rutherford (Genesis), Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Jeremy Vine (BBC Radio 2), Eddy Temple Morris (Virgin Radio FR), Sunta Templeton (The Chris Moyles Show On Radio X), Nicky Bignell (Head of Music BBC), Chris De Burgh and more!
On the winning song, Dave Stewart said: “The gentle piano approach to the song is alluring, the second verse in this song is lyrically strong, honest and compelling with her vocal intensifying just enough to feel her anger and get the listener emotionally involved. I chose this song because of the honesty in the vocals and the lyrics mixed with the minimalist approach to the recording, God is there in the space between the notes.“
Songs of War is organised by Soundcheque and sponsored by Hard Rock Cafe London, in support of War Child UK and in partnership with BASCA, SYNCR Music and Virgin Radio UK
